Scooter FAQ
I just bought, last week, a 2008 keeway f-act 49cc scooter. The first day I got it, I rode it all day with no problems. The following two days I didn't ride it at all, and it just sat parked. When I went back to it three days later, it wouldn't start- regular start, electric start or even kick start. I figured somehow I didn't turn the bike all the way off after using the electric start last time I rode it, as the people who sold it to me warned me about. It is, however, hard to tell when the bike is completely shut down when using the electric start.
Anyway, I got a battery tender and charged the battery overnight, put it back in the scooter this morning and the battery definitely has way more juice, but it still wont start. It turns over and really sounds like its about to crank right up, but time and time again it doesn't start.
Is it possible I completely killed the battery and need a new one? The light on the battery tender says the battery is fully charged, and the battery gauge on the bike shows a charge on the battery. Maybe constant, repeated attempts at starting it just killed the battery beyond repair? Is it possible that the engine is flooded somehow? How would I fix that if that were the case? I checked the fuses, (or fuse) and its still good. This thing wont even kick start. When I try to kick start it it just seems like I'm just kicking a pedal. Doesn't seem/feel responsive or seem like the kick is doing anything at all.
Im stumped, and the guy at the shop I bought it from seems confused too. Over the phone he just keeps telling me "theres no reason that bike shouldn't start up". I tend to agree, but obviously that is not the case.
Any ideas, advice, answers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
i have a electric scooter im not sure what brand it is but it has a hand brake and air filled wheel, the batteries in it are worn out and i dont really want to buy the big battries they take so i was wondering if i can put a chainsaw engine on it. i kno that i have to bolt it down and everything, i took the old motor out. alot of the sites i look at say get a PUSH scooter with inflatable tires and a hand brake but is it the same and everything for a electric scooter without the batteries, motor, computer, etc?
so my electric scooter kinda got a burnt wire and the isolation burnt of it. if i wrap electric tape around the wire will it work.
I have a schwinn electric scooter that i've had for a while now. But see my brake won't work anymore. What could be wrong? and how much would it usually cost to repair this malfunctioning brake?
i have a electric scooter and it has a metal frame, and air filled wheels which from what i looked at is what i need. i have a 25 cc weed wacker engine and planing on putting it on the scooter. what i need help with is how do i find a centrifugal clutch for it? and also how should i mount the engine to the scooter? step by step instructions would help a lot for mounting the engine, thanks.

This rocks. I bought both sizes. I have a 4 and 7 yr old. They learned to use it immediately. By this, I mean in a day or so.
After a few weeks, they just hopped on a regular bike and they took off within minutes.
Great trainer! My kids didn’t take any spills and their knees have no scuffs. I wish there was a place to rent these out. Your child will be riding a normal bike within a week or two.
Can’t go wrong with these. I didn’t have to chase my kids around bent over pushing and/or holding on to the seat.
Thumbs up on this!
BTW,
One of my bikes had an issue and the owner of the Company actually spoke to me. He sent me a replacement bike while I still had the other one without taking down my credit card as collateral. What a guy! Bike is solid and still looks new.
Our 2nd grader was struggling to get off the training wheels. A classmate learned to ride before kindergarten with this product. It took my child three one-half hour sessions spread over a week to learn to ride a bicycle. This product really worked for us.
Wonderful way for youngsters to learn to ride a bke without the hassles of training wheels!
My granddaughter was given this for Christmas so she really did not use this in earnest till the spring and summer. She is 5yrs. old and very tall for her age (she is as tall as most 7 yr olds) but the glider still fit her comfortably. Since, she is tall she seems to have coordination issues - you look at her and expect she can do more because her height makes her seem so much older. The video, was very helpful because she did not get the concept at first and was frustrated. After that she managed short spurt distances and now glides like a pro. She is still reluctant to let go of her two wheeler with training wheels because she likes to keep up with her brother on his big wheel when he zooms in the park, but since her legs are so long, she can no longer go as fast as she’d like on that. Next month is her birthday, so we’ll be givng her her first “big girl” bike and feel very confident that she’ll be on her own in no time. We chose the blue so her younger brother will be able to use it as well. The glider is very lightweight, well constructed and was super easy to put together. Highly recommended.
We had a smaller wooden version of this bike and it was great. When our son outgrew it we purchased this one. It is a great way for kids to learn to balance on a bike. This is sturdy and well built and well worth the money. Our 5 year-old son rides it every day and has a blast. A great product.
