Scooter FAQ

Open Question: Why won't my scooter start up?

I just bought, last week, a 2008 keeway f-act 49cc scooter. The first day I got it, I rode it all day with no problems. The following two days I didn't ride it at all, and it just sat parked. When I went back to it three days later, it wouldn't start- regular start, electric start or even kick start. I figured somehow I didn't turn the bike all the way off after using the electric start last time I rode it, as the people who sold it to me warned me about. It is, however, hard to tell when the bike is completely shut down when using the electric start. Anyway, I got a battery tender and charged the battery overnight, put it back in the scooter this morning and the battery definitely has way more juice, but it still wont start. It turns over and really sounds like its about to crank right up, but time and time again it doesn't start. Is it possible I completely killed the battery and need a new one? The light on the battery tender says the battery is fully charged, and the battery gauge on the bike shows a charge on the battery. Maybe constant, repeated attempts at starting it just killed the battery beyond repair? Is it possible that the engine is flooded somehow? How would I fix that if that were the case? I checked the fuses, (or fuse) and its still good. This thing wont even kick start. When I try to kick start it it just seems like I'm just kicking a pedal. Doesn't seem/feel responsive or seem like the kick is doing anything at all. Im stumped, and the guy at the shop I bought it from seems confused too. Over the phone he just keeps telling me "theres no reason that bike shouldn't start up". I tend to agree, but obviously that is not the case. Any ideas, advice, answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Open Question: making a electric scooter a gas scooter?

i have a electric scooter im not sure what brand it is but it has a hand brake and air filled wheel, the batteries in it are worn out and i dont really want to buy the big battries they take so i was wondering if i can put a chainsaw engine on it. i kno that i have to bolt it down and everything, i took the old motor out. alot of the sites i look at say get a PUSH scooter with inflatable tires and a hand brake but is it the same and everything for a electric scooter without the batteries, motor, computer, etc?
